Fall into Activities!

October is a month we celebrate Pastoral Care Week. We would like to thank all our pastors for their services at Anamosa Care Center.  We provide church services with St. Pat’s Catholic Church on the second Wednesday of every month and bible study on the second and fourth Monday of each month.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To show our awareness we will be making bracelets to wear throughout the month that read hope, faith, and love. Friday, October 18th is wear it pink day for breast cancer awareness. We ask that staff and residents join in and wear pink on this day!

Our activity calendar is filled with fun “fall” activities. Residents will be reminiscing about fall while enjoying some pumpkin spice coffee, making fall table center pieces, decorating pumpkins to display throughout the facility, and taking a bus trip to Central Park to see the beautiful changing leaves.

To celebrate Halloween residents will be playing a version of Halloween bingo with pictures instead of numbers and making ghost suckers to hand out to trick-or-treaters. Thursday, October 31st we will be having a Halloween Party with spooky games and snacks in the afternoon. All kids are invited to come trick-or-treating at both the care center and assisted living starting at 4:30 pm. Residents will be passing out candy until 5:30 pm. Wear you best Halloween costume!

Happy Halloween!
